Herbaceous plant to 15cm high, arising from a bulb. The basal leaves are upright, grey-green and strap-like. Flowering in late winter or early spring, the flowers are 25mm wide and white, featuring two whorls of petals, with the inner whorl typically displaying green tips.

Uses

Ornamental flower suitable for cottage gardens, garden beds and under deciduous trees.

Culture

Suitable for cool and temperate climates, it prefers semi-shade and moist, well-drained soil. Frost tolerant. Propagate from seed or by dividing clumps after flowering.
