Clump-forming, herbaceous perennial approx 1m high. Stems are erect and branched. Leaves are lanceolate, mid-green, 10cm long and hairy underneath. The purple flowers are held on slender terminal racemes during summer and autumn.

Uses

Ornamental perennial suitable for cottage gardens, rockeries and garden beds.

Culture

Suitable for full sun and a temperate climate. Prefers well-drained soil that is kept moist in summer. Propagate by division in Spring.
