Woodbine, Common Honeysuckle

Fast-growing, deciduous climbing plant to 6m high if given support. The ovate, pointed, dull-green leaves are blue underneath. In summer terminal whorls of pink-red buds open to form fragrant, yellow-white tubular flowers with two lobes and exerted stamens.

Uses

Ornamental and scented creeper suitable for growing on a trellis, pergola or similar support.

Culture

Grow in full sun in cool and temperate climates. Prefers well-drained soils. Prune to maintain desired shape. Propagate from seed or cuttings. Susceptible to aphids.
