Hybrid between T. cordata and T. dasystyla. Deciduous tree to 20m high by 5m wide. Leaves are heart-shaped and dark green with pale undersides. Small, fragrant, yellow-white, cup-shaped flowers. Fruit are small, round green berries.

Uses

Ornamental tree suitable for parks and larger gardens.

Culture

Prefers sun or semi-shade and fertile, well-drained soil in cool climates. Tolerant of frost and air pollution. Sensitive to drought. Can be pruned. Propagate by layering, cuttings, seed in autumn or grafting in summer.
