Fast-growing upright annual plant to 50cm high by 15cm wide. The foliage is pale green and feathery. The blue spurred flowers occur in spring and ealry summer and are followed by green seed pods, turning brown with maturity.

Uses

Ornamental flower suitable for cottage gardens, and both the flower and seed pod are used in floral arrangements.

Culture

Grow in full sun in cool and temperate climates. Prefers fewrtile, well-drained soil, but will survive in more difficult conditions. Frost tolerant. Deadhead to prolong flowering. Propagate from seed. Self-seeds readily.
