Short-lived, spreading herbaceous perennial approx .7m high. Stems are wiry and branched with small, dark green leaves. The numerous small flowers are either white or pale pink, occurring in summer. Low growing varieties are also available.

Uses

Showy perennial usually grown as an annual in garden beds and cottage gardens. Often used as a cut flower.

Culture

Prefers full sun and a sheltered site in a cool or temperate climate. Prefers well-drained, fertile, alkaline soil. Tolerates frost. Propagate by seed.
